Curriculum Consultancy
Since it was established in 1997 (as the Faculty Education Unit), the MEU has acted as a consultant for curriculum development both nationally and internationally, and has developed strong links with several health professional schools in the Asia Pacific Region and the Middle East. The unit also provides consultancy services for other aspects of health education, such as the training of health educators in creating teaching and assessment materials which are culturally appropriate and aligned with their own curriculum and institution.
A number of universities have also licensed curriculum materials from the University of Melbourne's undergraduate medical curriculum for use in their own medical courses, often in combination with support from the unit's academic staff.
