Clinical Teaching Associates
The Clinical Teaching Associates (CTAs) are women from the community who are trained to provide teaching in sensitive examinations, in particular breast and gynaecological examinations. Whilst being actually examined themselves, the CTAs give medical students specialized guidance and feedback on their technical and interpersonal skills.
As well as medical students, the program has been part of the training of postgraduate doctors including registrars at the Royal Women’s Hospital, GP registrars, and also international medical graduates. The program is also involved in the training of practice nurses.
The program is partly funded by Papscreen Victoria.
