Teaching Awards
The Medical Education Unit coordinates the annual Melbourne Medical School Teaching Awards. These awards were created to recognize outstanding contributions in teaching and teaching excellence.
Nominations are encouraged from individual teachers within the Melbourne Medical School or a team of teaching staff responsible for the co-development and/or delivery of teaching material.
The award categories for 2009 are:
- Early career development award (will have held a substantive teaching appointment in a university for less than 7 years)
- Teaching excellence (open award)
- Program development (open award)
Not all categories will necessarily be awarded, and more than one award may be given within categories.
Each award will consist of a grant ($1200 for the early career award and $2000 for the teaching excellence and program awards) and an award plaque. Winners may use the grant to support any project related to their academic work in teaching or research.
Applications for the 2009 awards close 19 November 2009.
