Universitas Indonesia Advanced Medical Science Graduation
On Tuesday 12th Dec 2007, A/Prof Steve Trumble, A/Prof Steve Farish and Dr Justin Bilszta attended the graduation ceremony of the Batch 4A Universitas Indonesia Advanced Medical Science students in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The ceremony, held in the Auditorium of the Faculty of Medicine and attended by parents and friends, marked the culmination of 12 months hard-work for the 45 students who spent 12 months in Australia developing skills in scientific and medical research.
The highlight of the ceremony was the award of the University of Melbourne, Faculty of Dentistry, Medicine and Health Sciences Dean’s Medal for Outstanding Achievement to Ms Andriani Putri Bestari. Andriani’s project, under the supervision of Dr Sof Andrikopoulos and Prof Joseph Proietto, focused on determining the biochemical basis of increased hepatic glucose production in the ‘pepck’ transgenic rat.
