Dr Justin Bilszta
Dr Bilszta is the Assistant Academic Co-ordinator for the Advanced Medical Science Program and Research Fellow with the Dept of Psychiatry, University of Melbourne & Austin Health. His previous role was as National Project Manager for Stage 1 (2001-2005) of the beyondblue National Postnatal Depression Program. His interests include screening and detection strategies for perinatal depression, in particular the financial impact of depression on families and the association between depression and satisfaction with perintal health services. He is also a co-investigator with Prof Anne Buist on a project evaluating the role of sleep in the relaspe of postpartum psychosis/bipolar disorder during pregnancy and potential mechanisms for the genetic transmission of perinatal depression.

Responsibilities
- Assistance with the academic development, coordination and evaluation of the AMS subject;
- Development of research units, bridging and orientation programs for students from international universities undertaking the BMedSc Program;
- Research mentoring that supplements and complements that provided by the students’ research supervisors.
