Research
The synthesis of teaching, learning and research is fundamental to the Medical Education Unit. We seek to be a major contributor to high quality, innovative research in a number of areas including:
- Curriculum structure and design;
- Student selection and predictors of successful learning outcomes;
- Personal and social development in late adolescence and early adulthood;
- Assessment models and techniques in medical education;
- Evaluation models for medical education;
- Application of current theories of learning to the acquisition and assessment of clinical skills;
- Student learning;
- Use of multimedia and other resources in learning.
The research undertaken in the MEU brings together researchers from diverse backgrounds to explore teaching and learning strategies. Our scholars and researchers in medical education research are interested in collaborating with local, national and international academics and clinicians to explore these areas of research.
